new thoughts on language

This is an add on to the first post on tumblr on what language means to me. This time around though I would like to focus a bit more on text because my own view of language has not changed significantly enough.

Now my thoughts on text in terms of language is that just like language text is non concrete. Through time text can mean many different things and its meanings change through time and also from person to person even at the same moment in time. For example lets say bill#1 lives in our modern time and bill#2 lives fifty years ago. They will both see a text about war very differently, the possibilities of what they could think are endless but lets say for instance one thing that could drasticly change there connotations of a text on war could be there contemporary journalistic reports on war. Now to address whether bill#1 and 2 live at the same time are in the same place the simple fact that they experienced separate lives means they will interpret the text differently.

Going more towards a microcosmic level of language the written word. Words can be placed under the same instances as a text and as a designer of language this reveals that there can be no one perfect design that will be completely clear or completely true or even relate to all people because of these differences we experience.

FIL is the prefix to the following words
filatory, filiopietistic, filicide
this piece is actualy an abstract poem useing the prefix to tie the words together to show that they should be connecte. The interesting thing is though that the poem isn’t the words themselves but there dictionary definitions.

Mahjubeh’s questions

1.What I like about persian calligraphy is that it is that it is very fun to do and I just simply enjoy learning about new things, whatever is taught will be fine

2. I find what i interesting is that the letters and words change depending on what letters are in the word. Also how a word can be drawn into different shapes.

3. I think the style of it can be adapted to english and also how the words can be crafted into shapes and things can also be brought over.
